At The Favourite Authentic Chinese we serve exactly that….authentic Chinese food as would be found if you visited China. We are conscious of your health and welfare and consequently we do not use MSG additives to flavour the food unlike many UK based Chinese Restaurants.  By all means scan through our menu and should you want to book a table at the restaurant or merely place an order for collection, then please go to Book A Table in our main menu above. Gray/brown frequently used in Asian cooking. While almost tasteless, it is prized for it’s slippery and slightly crunchy texture, which remains despite cooking. It is found to be effective for reducing cholesterol and promoting blood circulation.

          • SHIITAKE

Edible mushroom native to East Asia, considered as one of the World’s healthiest foods.

          • DOUFU

Also known as ToFu/bean curd, is made out of coagulating soy milk. There are many varies of tofu: soft, firm or extra-firm. It has a subtle flavour, it is naturally gluten-free, low in calories, high in protein, iron and calcium. It can also be used for sweet dishes.

          • DRIED CHILLS

As we serve Chuan cuisine and Xiang Cuisine, so we use dried chills in our hot&spicy dishes. They are eatable, but for choice as the main function of them is adding flavour into meats and vegetables. Most Chinese Doufu (Tofu) is considered as one of the super foods: it can speed up detoxification process, protect the liver, it is suitable for people with diabetes, ones with high cholesterol level and inflamed respiratory tract.

It has been one of our most popular dishes for a long time. YUXIANG DISHES

Yuxiang 鱼香; pinyin: yú xiāng, is a seasoning mixture in Chinese cuisine, and also refers to the resulting sauce in which meat or vegetables are cooked. It is said to have originated in SiChuan cuisine, but has since spread to other regional Chinese cuisines. The technique of sauteeing the combined base ingredients of garlic, Soya bean sauce and chili peppers.

It has a bright red colour with slight sweet flavour. The meat tastes soft and juicy, but not fat or greasy.

素 菜 豆 腐 DOUFU (TOFU) & VEGETABLE DISHES

豆腐, DouFu (PinYin) , ToFu (Cantonese), is a pretty common food in China. It is an important source of protein and has a low calorie count also high in iron in the vegetarian diet of East Asian Buddhism. Li ShiZhen in the Ming Dynasty described a method of making DouFu in the Compendium of Materia Medical as it can have high calcium or magnesium content.
